对冲基金Appaloosa Management创办人David Tepper致函惠而浦公司，指责其董事会破坏股东价值，并呼吁对其策略和领导层进行彻底改革。Tepper指出，对公司配股感到震惊，认为是大规模且不必要的股东权益稀释。惠而浦昨宣布配股筹集4.55亿美元，并透过存托凭证发行筹集5.08亿美元。Tepper称，是次融资的成本超过10%，远高于公司在公开市场上经税后调整后的债务成本低于5%，即使管理阶层曾公开表示要降低杠杆率。截至去年底，惠而浦是Appaloosa Management投资组合中的第八大持仓，价值2.82亿美元。
