Paramount Touts IP Advantage -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Feb 26

Paramount says one of its biggest strengths is leveraging its intellectual property across its business to maximize sales. The company is working to expand its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, for example, with two major theatrical releases and a toy partnership with Mattel, among other plans, to drive the franchise's multi-year growth, CEO David Ellison says in a letter to shareholders. The franchise has already had a presence in film, television, live experiences, games, publishing and consumers products, he says. The company has been working to defend its IP recently, including with a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance regarding its AI video generator. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
