日本首都的通胀本月再度降温，一年多来首次降至该央行2%的目标下方。2月份，东京都市圈不含波动较大的生鲜食品的消费者物价同比上涨1.8%。该涨幅低于1月份2.0%的升幅，但高于数据提供商Quick对经济学家进行的一项调查所预计的1.7%。该结果标志着这项指标自2024年10月以来首次降至日本央行2%的目标下方。东京的数据被认为是全国趋势的先行指标。在该央行对进一步加息保持谨慎但积极的立场之际，上述数据出炉。此前，一轮紧缩政策已在12月份将政策利率带至0.75%。
