** Shares of U.S. utility NextEra Energy NEE.N down 1.7% at $93.59

** Co says it plans to sell $2  billion in equity units, with a $300  million over-allotment option

** Co says net proceeds will help fund energy and power investments and general corporate purposes, including paying down commercial paper

** Co says Wells Fargo Securities, BofA Securities, Citigroup and Mizuho will be joint book-running managers for the offering

** Including session's move, NNE up 16.9% YTD
