Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were sharply lower Friday morning, declining 1.15% to 2,933.33 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which is down about 1.4% for the week.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by travel company Tuniu (TOUR) and mobile app developer Cheetah Mobile (CMCM), which rose 5.4% and 2.1% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by thin-film liquid display maker LG Display (LPL) and Korea Electric Power (KEP), which fell 10% and 7.6% respectively. They were followed by automotive marketplace Cango (CANG) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group (VNET), which were down 7.3% and 6.6% respectively.
From South Asia, there were no gainers.
The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firms Infosys (INFY) and Wipro (WIT), which dropped 4.3% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which lost 2.8% and 2.1% respectively.
