葛兰素史克在周三的一份声明中表示，将以 9.5 亿美元现金收购这家私人持有的加拿大公司。
这笔交易标志着英国制药公司的战略转型，该公司此前在影响心脏和代谢系统疾病方面的药物管线规模较小。新任首席执行官路克·米尔斯正面临增加新药储备的压力，因为他正寻求抵消一款重磅抗艾滋病(HIV)药物专利到期所带来的影响。
葛兰素史克目前最大的财务压力来自于其支柱性 HIV 药物（如 Dovato）将在 2028 年前后遭遇专利到期。
1月20日，葛兰素史克还宣布收购美国上市药企RAPT Therapeutics。这家公司旗下核心资产是一款长效抗IgE单克隆抗体JYB1904，于2024年12月从济煜医药引进，主要用于食物过敏、慢性自发性荨麻疹、哮喘等疾病的治疗。
