ChainCatcher 消息，以太坊创始人 Vitalik 在社交媒体上发文表示，DeFi 是以太坊核心价值的重要组成部分。金融赋能是当今世界实现自主与自由的关键维度，金融远非以太坊的唯一用途，但它至关重要。当下的 DeFi 已将全球最佳储蓄、风险管理及财富创造机会以无需许可的方式向世界开放。以太坊基金会需要在此基础之上继续构建。
以太坊早期 DeFi 时代的伟大之处在于其敢于梦想、创新，并创造出全新的范式。未来的 DeFi 将重拾这一精神，不要只想着“做一个更好的稳定币”，要深入一层思考底层问题，提出更优解决方案。以太坊基金会对“链上金融”乃至“DeFi”的支持并非不加甄别。
对 DeFi 有明确的愿景：无需许可、开源、隐私优先、安全至上的全球金融体系——最大化用户对自身资产的控制权，最小化中心化瓶颈与可信第三方，使风险管理与财富积累民主化。基金会希望协议能够通过“退出测试”：即使创始团队突然消失，系统仍能继续运行，而实现这一愿景需要大量工作。
