U.K. energy group Drax will cut up to around a third of jobs at its power station in Yorkshire, a trade union said.
Between 89 and 148 jobs will be cut at Drax Power Station in spring 2027, the GMB Union said. The job cuts could represent more than 30% of Drax's workforce at the site, the union said, citing a collective redundancy notice.
The North Yorkshire power station provides 5% of the U.K.'s power, and 10% of the U.K.'s renewable output, according to Drax's website.
Earlier this month, Drax said that up to 350 jobs would be lost across its global workforce of more than 3,000 people as part of an organizational shake up.
The group referred to its earlier statement when approached for comment Tuesday.
Drax shares closed up 0.3% to trade at 6.67 pounds Tuesday.
