1512 ET - The launch of Waymo robotaxis in Dallas through a partnership with Avis is likely to test Uber's ability to compete in autonomous offerings, Morgan Stanley says in a note. Uber, which is facing investor scrutiny over whether it can prevent autonomous vehicle dominance by Waymo and Tesla, currently offers robotaxi rides in Dallas in partnership with Avride. "The extent to which Uber is or is not able to prop up these smaller players against Waymo in Dallas over the next 12-24 months will be important signposts of evidence about whether Uber could be successful in scaling competitors vs Waymo," the analysts say.
