香港财政司司长陈茂波在2026-27财年财政预算案中表示，香港公务员编制在未来两个财政年度，每年分别缩减2%，预计至2026年4月1日，公务员编制将减至约十八万八千个职位。本届政府任期内将累计削减超过一万个职位。
