Micron Technology (MU) said Saturday it began commercial production at its $2.75 billion semiconductor assembly and test facility in Sanand, Gujarat, in India.

The site converts advanced DRAM and NAND wafers into finished memory and storage products, with first-phase operations containing over 500,000 square feet of cleanroom space, the company said.

The manufacturing plant is projected to process tens of millions of chips in 2026 before scaling to hundreds of millions in 2027, Micron said.

Shares of the company were down 3.2% in recent Monday premarket activity.
