Omega Oil & Gas (ASX:OMA) executed a contract with Helmerich & Payne (Australia) Drilling for the provision of the FlexRig 648 drilling rig to undertake the firm's 2026/27 drilling program at the oil and gas play on the eastern flank of the Taroom Trough, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The rig contract covers three firm wells and six optional wells, allowing a combination of vertical and horizontal wells.

Omega's program is scheduled to begin in May, following the completion of preceding wells by other operators.
