3月3日，港股市场航运及港口股走强，其中，宏海控股集团涨21%，中远海发涨超4%，中远海能、东方海外国际涨超3%，中远海控涨超2%。
消息面上，美国、以色列对伊朗发动攻击后，德黑兰宣布关闭霍尔木兹海峡航道，导致全球海上能源运输交通大乱。多家油轮公司、国际石油巨头与能源交易商等，已暂停经由霍尔木兹海峡运输原油、燃料与液化天然气(LNG)。
据知情人士透露，船东和经纪人对大西洋盆地的液化天然气运输船的报价已超过每天20万美元，这一价格较不到一天前的报价高出约一倍。由于与伊朗的冲突逐渐波及更广泛的地区，卡塔尔停止了液化天然气的生产，随后船舶运价大幅上涨。上述人士表示，根据最新报价，目前尚未有交易以该报价成交。这些报价水平至少是航运公司斯帕克商品公司周一早些时候评估的液化天然气运输船价格(61500美元)的三倍。
