3月3日，据知情人士透露，船东和经纪人对大西洋盆地的液化天然气运输船的报价已超过每天20万美元，这一价格较不到一天前的报价高出约一倍。由于与伊朗的冲突逐渐波及更广泛的地区，卡塔尔停止了液化天然气的生产，随后船舶运价大幅上涨。
上述人士表示，根据最新报价，目前尚未有交易以该报价成交。这些报价水平至少是航运公司斯帕克商品公司周一早些时候评估的液化天然气运输船价格（61500美元）的三倍。Precision LNG Consulting LLC顾问理查德·普拉特表示，交易性运费率（即实际的船舶租赁交易价格）不太可能大幅上涨，除非卡塔尔和阿布扎比等地的生产削减情况持续下去。他还指出，从美国到亚洲的船只航行距离的增加也可能起到一定作用。
