Market Chatter: Lockheed Martin, RTX Executives to Meet at White House to Discuss Boosting Weapons Production

Lockheed Martin (LMT) and RTX (RTX) executives, as well as other key US defense contractors, have been invited for a meeting with the Trump administration at the White House on Friday to discuss ramping up the production of weapons, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing five people familiar with the matter.

This comes as the Pentagon tries to replenish supplies after strikes on Iran and other recent military operations, according to the report.

The meeting aims to pressurize weapons makers to increase output faster and prioritize production over shareholder payouts, the people said.

Moreover, Deputy Defense Secretary, Steve Feinberg, is requesting a supplemental budget of about $50 billion that could be released as soon as Friday to replace the weapons used in recent conflicts, one of the sources told Reuters.

Lockheed Martin and RTX did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
