LG CNS (KRX:064400) has introduced a hyper-scale AI data center called the AI Box, which can accommodate 576 GPUs in a single container, the South Korean AX specialist said in a Thursday release.
An AI Box can be built in about six months without requiring a separate building, compared with the roughly two years it takes to build a traditional data center. Companies can use it to quickly deploy data centers to meet demand, the release said.
The company said further that the AI Box features scalability due to its modular design, and "integrates the core infrastructure required for data center operation into a container based on LG Group's "One LG" technology that concentrates its know-how." This includes the package application of LG Electronics' (KRX:066570) Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) and LG Energy Solution's (KRX:373220) UPS (uninterruptible power supply) batteries.
Shares of LG CNS jumped more than 8% at market close.
