Helus Pharma (HELP) said Thursday that its experimental drug HLP004 showed encouraging results in a phase 2 study for adults with Generalized Anxiety Disorder who still had symptoms despite standard antidepressant treatment.
Patients receiving a 20 mg dose of HLP004 alongside existing therapy showed an average 10.4-point drop in HAM-A anxiety scores after six weeks, the company said.
Helus said 67% of patients were responders and 39% achieved remission at six months. In the 20 mg group, 59% responded, and 32% reached remission at week six.
The company said the treatment was well tolerated.
