Intel (INTC) has a March 20 deadline to answer questions about whether the company uses technology from a blacklisted Chinese subsidiary of ACM Research, The New York Times reported Wednesday, citing a letter sent by US lawmakers to CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

The lawmakers asked whether Intel's engagement with the maker of semiconductor tools could pose national security risks and enable China to access the company's chip-making processes, the letter stated, according to the media outlet.

Intel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
