European Energy Stocks Fall as Prices Slide -- Market Talk

0859 GMT - European energy stocks fall in morning trade as oil and gas prices tumble on President Trump's signals that the conflict in Iran could end soon. Brent crude drops 6.9% to $92.14 a barrel, and WTI crude falls 7% to $88.13 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, is down 14.5% to 48.27 euros a megawatt hour. In London, Shell falls 2.2% and BP drops 2.6%. France's TotalEnergies is down 3% while Spain's Repsol is down 3.15%. Norway's Equinor falls nearly 5%.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
