3月12日，本田汽车称，其2025财年（2025.4–2026.3）预计经营亏损2700亿~5700亿日元，此前预计收益5500亿日元；预计净亏损4200亿~6900亿日元（约合人民币116亿~247亿元），此前预计收益3000亿日元。
该公司同日称，取消了部分美国制造电动汽车的研发和上市计划。预计因重新评估电气化战略产生的总费用和损失最高达2.5万亿日元（约合人民币1082亿元）。
假如真如本田汽车所预估，那将是本田汽车上市以来首次年度亏损。
而在中国市场，本田的发展也显现出危机。今年2月，本田中国官网公布销量仅28780辆，同比下滑15%。今年前两个月累计销量86269辆，同比降幅为16%。从最新月销量数据看，其销量规模逐渐被鸿蒙智行、零跑等新势力品牌迎头赶上。

放眼全球市场，面对颓势，本田不仅重新评估电气化战略费用，近期还有迹象显示将从产品投放策略上做出调整。
据日经新闻日前报道，本田汽车最早将于今年春季在日本开售中国生产的电动汽车，成为首家在日本本土市场投放中国产电动车的日本车企。本田将把2022年在中国推出的纯电动汽车品牌e:N系列车型，按日本法规标准进行适配后进口至日本本土市场。
