Tencent's Workbuddy Could Mark Inflection Point for AI Agent in China -- Market Talk

0323 GMT - Tencent's newly launched artificial-intelligence agent could mark an inflection point in AI usage in China, Citi analysts say in a research note. Workbuddy, an AI agent similar to OpenClaw, can understand natural language, think autonomously and manage user tasks. Citi thinks it could represent "a pivot shift from the current 'Chat AI' paradigm to 'Execution AI' within China." The development marks an important milestone for Tencent, providing live scenarios to evaluate the future integration and role of AI agents within its WeChat mini-program ecosystem, they add. Citi maintains its buy call on Tencent with an target price unchanged of HK$783.00. Shares are last 5.0% higher at HK$541.50. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
