Valero says rainstorm triggers safety trips at Texas city refinery
March 9 (Reuters) - Valero VLO.N reported on Monday that a rainstorm tripped multiple safety interlocks and caused a "unit upset" at its 225,000‑barrel‑per‑day Texas City refinery, according to a regulatory filing.
"A heavy rainstorm event tripped multiple safety interlocks resulting in a safety trip of the South Plant SRU (Sulphur Recovery Unit)/TGU (Tail Gas Unit) and a unit upset at the GOHT SRU (Sulphur Recovery Unit) Trains No. 1 and No. 2,” the filing said.
