** U.S. energy companies rise premarket, tracking crude surge on escalating Middle East war O/R

** Brent crude futures LCOc1 rose as much as 16% to $107.48 a barrel; set for biggest-ever single-day jump

** U.S. West Texas Intermediate $(WTI)$ crude CLc1 futures added $14.23, or 15.7%, to $105.13

** Exxon Mobil XOM.N, Chevron CVX.N up 1.4% and 1.9%, respectively; Conocophillips COP.N rises 2.9%

** SLB SLB.N gains 1.7%, Occidental Petroleum OXY.N adds 2.5%, Apa Corp APA.O advances 3.6%, Diamondback Energy FANG.O firms 3.1%
