Indonesia's retail sales are expected to rise in February, according to Bank Indonesia's latest survey released Tuesday.

The real sales index is projected to grow 6.9% annually in February, supported by spare parts and accessories, other household equipment, as well as clothing.

Monthly, retail sales are expected to increase 4.4%, driven by seasonal demand during Ramadan and ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festive period.

In January, the real sales index grew 5.7% year on year, underpinned by cultural and recreational goods, food, beverages and tobacco, as well as clothing, the central bank said.

Monthly, retail sales in January contracted 2.7%, in line with the normalization of private consumption after the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
