澳大利亚莱纳斯稀土公司（Lynas）已修订其与日本澳大利亚稀土公司的供应协议，确保了每年5000吨钕镨的坚定承诺，这是一种关键的稀土永磁材料。
日本澳大利亚稀土公司已承诺购买莱纳斯公司重稀土总产量的一半。
日本澳大利亚稀土公司是日本国有机构日本金属与能源安全组织和双日株式会社的合资企业，已向莱纳斯公司提供2亿澳元，用于增加重稀土和轻稀土材料的生产。
首席执行官阿曼达·拉卡泽表示，该协议将为日本工业提供“可靠的”稀土产品供应。
该协议将莱纳斯公司每年高达7200吨的总产能锁定至2038年。同时，它为5000吨的承诺量设定了每公斤110美元的价格下限。若价格超过每公斤150美元，其超出部分的30%将归日本澳大利亚稀土公司所有，每年上限为1000万美元。
莱纳斯公司在新闻稿中表示：“超出此最低数量的销售需经‘双方同意’，且不会给公司造成任何机会损失。”
由稀土制成的磁铁用量虽小却至关重要，广泛应用于从iPhone、洗衣机到F-35战机等各类设备，并为从电动汽车到军事系统等一切提供动力。
