洲际交易所截至3月10日的一周期货与期权周度数据显示，资金管理机构将这一全球基准原油的净多头持仓增加65，438手，至351，032手，为2020年2月以来最高水平。
与此同时，美国商品期货交易委员会（CFTC）数据显示，对美国原油的看涨押注升至八个月高位。
伊朗冲突已导致全球关键石油咽喉要道——霍尔木兹海峡的航运近两周近乎停摆，该航道通常承担全球约五分之一的石油供应。此次持续中断令市场参与者措手不及，许多人原本预计美以军事行动会是精准打击。
