Adobe CEO Right to Call Time on Leadership -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Mar 13

0927 GMT - Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen's decision to stand down from his position was the right one for the company, Jefferies' Brent Thill writes in a note. Narayen will leave after 18 years at the helm of the software group. He led a transition across the software industry in that time, but the rise of AI will create large challenges for the sector, Thill says. "While we admire CEO Narayen as a living legend in [the] software industry, we agree it is time for a change given massive industry shift due to AI," the analyst writes. Adobe shares tumble 8.6% in premarket trading.(josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
