美国10家航空公司及航空企业高管呼吁国会结束已影响旅客出行的政府停摆。
周六公开的联名信显示：“生活在你们选区与所在州的美国民众，已经厌倦了一次次政府停摆导致的机场排长队、出行延误和航班取消。然而，航空出行再次成为新一轮政府停摆中的政治皮球。”
联署高管包括达美航空、美国联合航空、美国航空、阿拉斯加航空、西南航空、捷蓝航空以及联合包裹运送服务公司（UPS）的首席执行官。
信中表示：“TSA工作人员薪水为零。这完全不可接受。没有收入，养家糊口、给车加油、支付房租即便不是完全不可能，也会变得异常艰难。”高管们还指出，目前正值春假出行旺季，停摆让无薪工作的美国联邦运输安全管理局（TSA）人员承受巨大压力。
他们表示，今年世界杯以及美国建国250周年庆典预计将为美国带来创纪录的1.71亿旅客。他们称：“政府早就该确保受影响的工作人员拿到薪水。”
高管们还呼吁国会通过三项法案，确保空管人员和TSA工作人员无论政府资金状况如何都能获得薪酬。
