SAP to Set Up AI Unit, Adopt Use-Based Pricing, Bloomberg Says

--German business-software group SAP is establishing a unit to push the adoption of artificial-intelligence features as it plans to charge customers based on AI consumption, Bloomberg reports, citing an interview with Chief Executive Christian Klein.

--Starting in July, the group will create "forward deployed engineering" teams to work with customers to develop its AI applications on top of SAP's technology, Bloomberg says.

--Charging customers based on AI consumption would mark a shift away from regular software subscriptions, Bloomberg reports.
