由于美国对油轮运输俄罗斯原油购买的豁免以及中东供应冲击，促使印度炼油商重返购买俄罗斯石油，印度在吸引俄罗斯原油货物方面正赢得与外国的竞争，船只在中途改变航向，离开原先的目的地，驶向印度。

　　根据MarineTraffic的油轮追踪数据，名为Aqua Titan的原油油轮——该船一月中旬离开俄罗斯波罗的海港口普里莫尔斯克——已在南海掉头，现在正驶往印度的门格洛尔，预计抵达时间为3月21日。

　　据Vortexa的数据称，至少有七艘装载俄罗斯石油的油轮在中途将目的地改为印度。

　　今年早些时候，当大多数买家因美国制裁以及印度面临削减俄罗斯石油进口的压力而避开俄罗斯原油时，俄罗斯和印度正为被困油轮上的数百万桶俄罗斯原油展开竞争。

　　如今，美国允许所有人购买俄罗斯原油，且亚洲对俄罗斯供应的竞争加剧，关键俄罗斯原油品种的价格已转为较布伦特价格升水，而仅仅一个月前还是大幅贴水。

　　Vortexa首席经济学家大卫·韦奇上周五表示，自3月初以来，水上俄罗斯原油的数量已减少超过2000万桶，相当于每天减少超过200万桶。
