Fed Meeting, PPI, Micron Earnings: Happening This Week -- WSJ

The Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision dominates this week's calendar. Investors will also closely monitor February's producer-price index for inflation signals, alongside a corporate earnings slate featuring Micron and FedEx.

Today

-- Fed meeting: The Fed is projected to hold rates steady at its meeting, which ends at 2 p.m. ET. Officials are also expected to release updated economic projections. Chair Jerome Powell will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m., his first since President Trump nominated Kevin Warsh to succeed him when Powell's term as chair ends in May.

-- Other central banks: Bank of Canada interest-rate announcement.

-- Earnings: Micron Technology, General Mills, Williams-Sonoma, Macy's

-- Economic data: The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release producer-price index data for February. The Energy Information Administration releases its weekly report on petroleum. The Census Bureau will release its full January report on factory orders, along with data on new residential construction for February.

Tomorrow

-- Earnings: Alibaba, Accenture, FedEx

-- Economic data: Philadelphia Fed releases its March manufacturing survey. January wholesale trade figures are expected to be released by the Census Bureau, along with new home sales for January. The EIA will release its weekly report on natural gas storage.

-- Other central banks: The Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank and Bank of England make their latest interest-rate announcements.
