Chia Tai Enterprises International (HKG:3839) said it plans to change its name to CPBIO, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the company were up more than 11% in Tuesday morning trade.
Chia Tai said the change reflects the group's strategic focus on its biotechnology and animal health businesses.
