ChainCatcher 消息，据美国加州中区联邦检察官办公室公告，前洛杉矶县警局副警长 Michael David Coberg 因协助加密货币诈骗犯 Adam Iza 实施敲诈和虚假逮捕，被判 63 个月联邦监禁及 12.7 万美元赔偿。
Coberg 作为 Iza 的商业伙伴和顾问，月薪至少 2 万美元。2021 年 10 月，Coberg 参与将一名受害者带到 Iza 住处，Iza 持枪威胁，Coberg 以在职执法人员身份审讯受害者，迫使受害者向 Iza 账户转账 12.7 万美元。2021 年 9 月，Coberg 与 Iza 等人合谋设局，诱使另一名受害者从迈阿密飞往洛杉矶，通过伪造交通拦截和非法持有毒品指控将其逮捕。
Coberg 于 2025 年 9 月对共谋敲诈和共谋侵犯公民权利两项罪名认罪。Iza 自 2024 年 9 月起被联邦拘留，已对联邦指控认罪，等待量刑。
