该公司正越来越多地依赖中国本土企业，如地平线机器人以及电动汽车制造商小鹏汽车，后者已开发出内部自研的“图灵”芯片。大众已在合肥投产的新款ID． UNYX 08电动SUV中使用该芯片，预计将于6月底开始交付。该车配备了L2级驾驶辅助系统，能够支持高速公路和城市道路驾驶。
此举反映了在中国竞争激烈的电动汽车市场，加速技术本土化的大趋势。大众与地平线的合资公司酷睿程也正致力于研发自己的先进汽车芯片，预计需要大约3到5年时间。
