加拿大能源监管机构的一份新报告预测，从现在到2050年，发电量将显著增长，部分原因是新的人工智能数据中心对电力的巨大需求。
该联邦机构为加拿大的石油、天然气和电力市场设想了四种供需情景：当前措施情景、更高情景、更低情景和净零情景。
在所有情景下，发电量预计都将大幅增长——低端情景增长30%，高端情景则比当前水平翻倍。
在所有情景中，风能都占据了新增发电容量的主要部分。
在所有情景下，加拿大原油产量短期内预计都将增长，但产量峰值时间点各不相同。
在现状情景下，产量将在2040年左右达到每日610万桶，到2050年稳定在每日590万桶。
