Risk of Policy Mistake If Fed Moves Toward A Tightening Pattern -- Market Talk

1236 ET - There is a risk of a policy mistake if the Fed decides to move toward a tightening pattern, says Jack Janasiewicz at Natixis Investment Managers Solutions. Janasiewicz says they might exacerbate the downside risks to growth due to potential tightening in financial conditions with the labor market being weaker. "Any sort of hawkish tilt is probably not going to be taken as a very good sign by the markets," he tells WSJ ahead of the interest rate decision. The market is pricing in a hold in interest rates for tomorrow, but investors will be listening to comments from the central bank on the future path of rates amid the war in Iran.
