Meeka Metals Starts Expansion Work at Western Australia Plant; Shares Up 4%

Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) started expansion work on the Murchison processing plant in Western Australia with the installation of an additional crushing circuit, wash plant and Steinert multi-sensor ore sorter, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The expansion is expected to raise the plant's annual mill capacity to about 800,000 tonnes and advance gold production, the filing said.
Equipment delivery and installation will begin in the June quarter, while commissioning of the ore sorter is scheduled for the September quarter, per the filing.
Shares rose past 4% in morning trade Tuesday.
