Alibaba's (HKG:9988) AliExpress said it is working to adhere to European Union regulations after lawmakers in the bloc scrutinized the platform's executives over dangerous and counterfeit products, Reuters reported Monday.
The bloc has been investigating AliExpress since March 2024, and the platform vowed to follow through on legally binding commitments to enhance its controls.
However, reports of sex dolls being sold on AliExpress surfaced, leading the Alibaba unit to say it had banned the Chinese seller, the report said.
Shares in Alibaba rose 1% during morning trading on Tuesday.
