China's First F-Class Gas Turbine Starts Power Production

China's first 550-megawatt F-class gas turbine started generating electricity following 168 hours of full-load operation, Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday, citing China Huadian.

The gas turbine forms part of the Huadian Chongqing Tongnan gas power project in Chongqing, China with a total installed capacity of 1.1 million kilowatts, the report said.

Upon full operation, the project will produce 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours of power yearly, equivalent to about 1.8 million households, Xinhua reported.
