特斯拉发文称：“携手SpaceX与人工智能公司xAI，我们正在建造史上规模最大的芯片制造工厂（年产能1太瓦），将逻辑芯片、存储芯片与先进封装技术集于一体。

　　为尽可能充分利用太阳能，我们每年需要向太空发射1亿吨用于捕获太阳能的设备。

　　这需要实现超大规模部署：

　　具备向轨道发射数百万吨物资的能力；太阳能供能的人工智能卫星；数百万台特斯拉擎天柱机器人参与建设。

　　所有这些设备都需要芯片支撑：仅擎天柱机器人就需要100至200吉瓦的芯片，太阳能AI卫星更需要太瓦级的芯片供应。

　　这一需求远超当前全球所有芯片厂商的产能总和，即便到2030年（按产能增速预测）也无法满足。我们打造万亿工厂，正是为了弥补当下芯片产能与未来需求之间的缺口——一个属于星际文明的未来。”
