Perennial Energy Swings to Loss as Revenue Falls 29% in 2025

Perennial Energy (HKG:2798) posted a loss of 197.8 million yuan for 2025, compared with a profit of 440.2 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the coal company were down nearly 2% in Wednesday morning trade.
The company attributed the loss to a number of factors, including a reduction in the global market prices for coal products.
Loss per share came in at 0.1236 yuan, compared with earnings per share of 0.2751 yuan a year earlier.
Revenue fell 29% to 1.21 billion yuan from 1.71 billion yuan amid a decline in the average market prices of coal products.
