Ex-Google exec Matt Brittin named new BBC boss

LONDON, March 25 (Reuters) - Britain's BBC on Wednesday named former Google GOOGL.O executive Matt Brittin as director general, replacing Tim Davie who quit last year.

Brittin, who joined Google in 2007 as head of UK and Ireland before becoming EMEA president in 2014 and stepped down in 2024, will take on the role from May 18.
