英国北海过渡管理局（The North Sea Transition Authority， NSTA）在英国第二轮碳封存许可轮次于3月24日截止时，收到了超过200万英亩海床的竞标申请。

　　北海过渡管理局是一家私人有限公司，由能源安全和净零大臣全资拥有，在 2022 年 3 月之前被称为 英国 石油和天然气管理局，它负责最大限度地提高北海石油的经济回收率。 它有权许可和监管与 英国 石油和天然气有关的活动，包括石油和天然气勘探，碳捕获和储存以及海上天然气储存。

　　这些申请为英国建立更多碳封存设施铺平了道路，并突显了该领域持续的进展。随着现有项目迈向首次注气，该领域在过去几个月中经历了一系列里程碑式的发展。

　　第二轮碳封存许可轮次于2025年12月启动，此前与皇家地产、苏格兰皇家地产及其他海床使用者进行了磋商，并在收到意向书后正式推出。

　　若在这些区域授予许可证，预计将延续英国已在两个不同地点授予四个封存许可证的成功经验。

　　Track 1项目Endurance已获得封存许可证，使其有可能在2028年实现首次注气；而第二个Track 1项目HyNet则获得了三个封存许可证，同样有望在2028年实现首次注气。

　　位于蒂赛德海岸附近的Endurance项目近期也已开始钻探一口评价井，此前，巴顿碳捕集与封存项目已在南北海的Hewett油田钻探了一口评价井。
