Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google will label verified investment apps on its app store in India, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a senior official from India's Securities and Exchange Board.
With the move, only brokers and intermediaries, who are registered with the regulator, will carry a verified badge for users to identify authentic platforms, according to the media outlet.
Neither Google nor the Indian regulator immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
