欧罗巴石油和天然气公司（Europa Oil & Gas）已获得爱尔兰政府批准，将其FEL 4/19许可证的第一阶段有效期延长至2028年1月。
该公司表示，爱尔兰气候、能源与环境部已同意延期，从而为开展技术研究和为项目寻找合作伙伴提供了额外时间。
FEL 4/19许可证包含Inishkea West天然气远景区，估计储量为1.5万亿立方英尺。
据该公司称，它计划利用延长期推进技术评估，并将许可证推进至钻探阶段。
Europa Oil & Gas首席执行官威廉·霍兰德表示：“我很高兴我们的申请获得批准，这样我们就可以继续对该许可证进行进一步的技术研究，并寻找项目合作伙伴。FEL 4/19包含巨大的、低风险的Inishkea West天然气远景区，储量达1.5万亿立方英尺，这是一项战略资产，有可能为爱尔兰提供可靠的低碳排放能源，并在向可再生绿色能源转型过程中发挥关键作用。”
“鉴于靠近现有基础设施，Inishkea West的发现可以迅速投产，并将减少爱尔兰对进口天然气的依赖。与从英国、挪威或更远地区进口的天然气相比，Inishkea West的国产天然气碳排放量将显著降低。”
