ChainCatcher 消息，据《福布斯》报道，Ripple 和 Stellar 创始人 Jed McCaleb 将从其约 39 亿美元的加密货币财富中投入 10 亿美元，通过其非营利机构 Astera Institute 开发基于人脑原理的 AGI 系统。此外还另外承诺向神经科学领域投入 6 亿美元。
Astera Institute 位于 Emeryville，目前正计划通过脑机接口记录小鼠执行任务时的神经活动模式，随后将研究成果转化为新型 AI 架构，实验对象未来将扩展至猴和人类。McCaleb 认为当前主流的 Transformer 架构缺乏规划、决策和动机等关键要素，需要探索新的方向。基于人脑原理的 AI 更有可能被人类理解和控制。
