Akamai (AKAM) said Wednesday that it has released an artificial intelligence-powered program designed to help multinational businesses track and control corporate identity theft.

The software continuously monitors internet traffic to automatically detect and evaluate fake websites created by scammers, the company said.

The system relies on live data to rank significant threats and speed up the removal of malicious assets, merging brand protection metrics with wider cybersecurity data to identify online vulnerabilities, Akamai said.

Shares of the company were up 1.3% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
