DraftKings (DKNG) and Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) unit FanDuel were sued in a product-liability case alleging the companies used modern technology to encourage addictive microbetting, the Public Health Advocacy Institute said Tuesday.
The complaint also names Genius Sports (GENI) and the National Football League, alleging they are among those profiting from increased microbetting, the nonprofit institute said.
The plaintiffs are suing under Pennsylvania's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and for design defects, failure to warn, and negligence, the institute said.
DraftKings, Flutter Entertainment, and the NFL did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
DraftKings shares fell 7.4% in Tuesday trading, Flutter dropped 3.2%, and Genius Sports rose 0.8%.
