1247 ET - Chewy for the past several quarters has been building the foundation needed to deploy artificial intelligence across the business at scale, CEO Sumit Singh says on a call with analysts. Now, with the foundation in place, the pet-supplies retailer is embedding AI across its operations, notably in the purchase experience as well as the company's service and operations layer, and its supply chain and fulfillment network. These deployments have streamlined workflows and improved productivity, Singh says. "As we move through 2026, these efforts will translate into measurable financial impact," he adds. "We expect AI driven efficiencies to contribute a low tens of millions of dollars benefit in 2026 with a meaningful step up in 2027, where we see a path to approximately $50 million or more in annualized savings as these capabilities scale."
