Apple (AAPL) has introduced age verification in the United Kingdom, requiring users to confirm they are at least 18 to access certain services and features, it said in a Tuesday post.

Users can confirm their age using either a credit card or by scanning an ID, the company said. Users who already have accounts can use their existing payment methods for verification, it said.

Apple said that Web Content Filter and Communication Safety will be turned on by default for children and adults who haven't confirmed their age.

The company added that children under 13 will not be allowed to create an Apple account without consent from a parent or guardian.
